Patricia Lagos is a PhD candidate in Research in Education at the Centre for Research in Human Flourishing, School of Education, University of Nottingham. Her thesis focuses on the impact of neoliberal educational policies on the mental health of schoolteachers, especially on the topic of suicidal ideation and suicide. She has been awarded several scholarships by the Chilean government to study abroad for a master’s degree and a PhD programme. Her latest publication is Lagos P “The Weda Kurruf or El Viento Malo: Suicide among Pewuenche Students in Chile.

Nicola is a qualified nurse (adult and children) and health visitor. After working in all these areas she moved into NHS healthcare management working in various clinical effectiveness/governance posts at local and national level. Nicola is passionate about the social history of nursing and has expert knowledge of the topic. She strongly believes that understanding the profession’s past including issues of gender, power, race and ethnicity helps nurses better understand contemporary issues affecting health care practice and policy.

Shelley G. MacDonald, MA, PhD, is a BACP accredited counseling psychotherapist with twenty-five years of experience working in front line services with children and young people, in residential social services and schools. She has also conducted Warner interviews for Voice of the Child.She has published papers in various journals including the British Journal of Psychotherapy, Perspectives in Psychiatric Care and her monograph on observation was published by UEL.
